Located at the Bayfront Avenue around the southern region of Singapore, Marina Bay Sands is perhaps one of the most iconic and renowned architectural wonders in the region, if not the world today. This amazing structure was opened in February 2011 and has become one a landmark for everyone visiting Singapore as well as the pride of the people in the country. It houses some of the most attractive places for tourists in the country and the most luxurious accommodations in the country. The main contractor for the resort was Ssangyong Engineering and Construction.
Among the main attractions at the Marina Bay Sands are the Sands SkyPark, the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, the Marina Bay Club, the ArtScience Museum as well as the signature casino. Essentially, the Marina Bay Sands is a major project when it was envisioned which was aimed at creating a state-of-the-art integrated resort that faces out the Marina Bay. The developer of this project is Las Vegas Sands and it was the most expensive standalone casino-based property in the world that included the cost of the prime land totalling to S$8 billion.
In total, the resort include more than 2,500 hotel rooms and a huge convention centre and a large shopping centres. Apart from that the 3-structure buildings also include 2 large theatres, 2 floating Crystal Pavilions and the largest atrium casino in the world. The icons here would be the casino while there is also the 340meter SkyPark located above the 3 buildings. Moshe Safdie Architects were the designers of the 20-hectare resort while Arup and Parsons Brinkerhorff were the engineers.
